An interview excerpt with Geron Smith, Director of Business Development
Interviewer: If my insurance agent suggests a restoration company, can I choose a different one?
Geron: The consumer always has a choice. It’s not always a bad thing, but just remember this, you want to establish the relationship with the people in your home, doing the work on your home. Do you feel good about the company that’s out? Have you even had an opportunity to visit with them? If we were called and we’re reaching out to the consumer, the homeowner, you’ve had time to establish a relationship with us. We’re talking to you. For a lack of better terms, we’re selling ourselves to you. You know us and so if it goes around route, sometimes the insurance company will have the relationship with the restoration company and not homeowner. Like I said, it’s not always a bad thing, but if the homeowner really wants the rapport, I would recommend going directly to the restoration company.
